Since 1988 the International Drive Resort Area Chamber of Commerce has been very successful in developing strong relationships with both City and County government officials. By working together, the Chamber has implemented special projects for the International Drive Resort Area including but not limited to:

  • Participation in Orange County 2040 Visionary Plan

  • Joined forces to prevent the proposed High Speed Rail that would bypass I-Drive

  • Illuminated street signs

  • Developed North I-Drive Beautification Project with City and County Planners

  • Participation in creating Pedi Cab Ordinance

  • A traffic signal at the corner of International Drive and Carrier Drive

  • Joined forces to prevent the installation of toll booths on the Beach line at I-Drive exit ramps

  • International Drive Exit Signage on I-4

  • A sidewalk installation under the Beach Line Expressway.

  • Ordinance to prohibit adult entertainment in tourist/commercial zoned areas

  • An ordinance to enhance the structure and signage of ticket booths

  • Participation in Transportation Issues

  • A new towing ordinance to regulate and prohibit predatory tow operations.

  • Participation in Tourist Development Tax Issues

  • Participation on Community Boards

  • Continuous Participation in Orange County and the City of Orlando Government Affairs
